Fuengirola pet friendly: your destination for travelling with your pet
Pets are much more than simple companions; they are part of our big family. Enjoying the dog‑friendly beach or moving around comfortably by bus is not an impossible mission in Fuengirola – quite the opposite.
Numerous hotels, restaurants, parks and shops have become animal‑friendly, especially when it comes to the furry members of the family. They open their doors to sharing experiences with them, making access easier and creating dedicated spaces for coexistence. And it’s not just us saying it: in 2022, Fuengirola was awarded the title of Spain’s best tourist destination for travelling with pets by the portal Travelguau.com, within the framework of the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR).
This pet‑friendly love goes beyond holidays or fun: it seeks to raise awareness about the importance of animal welfare through campaigns that promote adoption and fight against abandonment. For those who live in the town, we are working towards a major goal: achieving zero euthanasia of dogs taken in at the municipal Zoosanitary Park.
Everything for pets: shops, clinics and grooming salons
Living the full pet‑friendly experience without limitations is possible thanks to leisure businesses that allow dogs, specialised shops, and veterinary clinics and grooming salons.
Fuengirola’s annual calendar also offers the chance to enjoy an unmissable event: the celebration of Dog Day. A day held on the hillside of Sohail Castle for residents and visitors, with stands and demonstrations by canine units working in security and emergency services.
